Near English Creek

There are many activities just a trot away from English Creek Campground. Enjoy horseback riding the Appalachian trail or one of the many other local trails in nearby Great Smoky Mountains or Cherokee National Parks, Martha Sundquist, Panther Creek or other local State Parks, or even around the local country roads of Newport and Cosby in East Tennessee. Try white water rafting in the Pigeon River, hiking many of the local trails, fishing or boating in Douglas Lake, hunting in season on public lands, or one of many other outdoor activities nearby.

Visit the historic towns of Cosby, Gatlinburg, and Pigeon Forge, where you can enjoy a vast shopping experience, sight-seeing, or a plethora of family fun themed parks and businesses, including the famous Dollywood. There are also many restaurants to choose from when it comes to a dining experience.

If it's relaxation your looking for, nothing beats lounging around in the rolling hills of East Tennessee. There is also much wildlife to see in the surrounding area, including deer, black bear, opossums, raccoons, foxes, beavers, hawks, eagles, and wild turkeys. So whatever you're into, chances are that you'll find it here.

For those looking for an adventure during their stay at our campground, horseback riding is a great way to explore the Smoky Mountains and the Appalachian Trail. Nearby Cosby, TN is the perfect place to go for a peaceful and scenic ride through the countryside. If you’re looking for something a bit more adventurous, you can explore the Cherokee National Forest, where you’ll find breathtaking views, lush forests, and hidden waterfalls. No matter which route you choose, horseback riding is a great way to enjoy the Smoky Mountains.

Near our camping site, you can enjoy a variety of water activities. Douglas Lake is the perfect place for kayaking and boating, with plenty of space to explore and take in the beautiful scenery. Fishing is also popular in the nearby waterways of East Tennessee. You can find white water rafting on the Pigeon River, a thrilling adventure that's sure to create lasting memories, with Hartford, TN being a great spot to cast off. Swimming is also available, so you can enjoy a refreshing dip in the wading hole at English Creek, or venture out to one of the local waterfalls, rivers, streams, or lakes. Our camping is located near a great selection of hiking and biking opportunities. From hiking trails through the national parks to country roads through beautiful farmlands, rolling hills, and spectacular scenery, you’ll find something to explore. For the adventurous types, the national forest and state parks are full of trails and paths to explore. Biking is also a great way to take in the sights and sounds of nature. Surrounding areas offer a variety of terrain for all levels of cyclists. Whether you’re looking for a leisurely ride through the countryside or an adrenaline-filled adventure, you’ll find it here.

Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge offer a range of sight-seeing, shopping and dining experiences for campers. Historic Gatlinburg offers a unique blend of southern charm and adventure. Pigeon Forge is home to family-friendly attractions, such as Dollywood, The Island, and the Titanic Museum. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park provides breathtaking views and miles of trails to explore. For a unique experience, campers can take a scenic drive on Cade's Cove Loop Road or explore the numerous museums in the area. Shopping opportunities abound with hundreds of boutiques, souvenir shops, and craft stores to choose from. Finally, there are plenty of restaurants to choose from, offering everything from BBQ to fine dining.
